Whoever said TOWIE stars are in a flash unmistakable on account of their adoration for fake tan and hair straighteners - Lucy Mecklenburgh has quite recently demonstrated all of you off-base.

The star totally changed in a nearby up Instagram photograph this evening, taken soon after abandoning her brunette hair in tight plaits.

We nearly didn't remember her.

Lucy looks strikingly energetic in the photograph, with negligible make-up on, and flaunts tight twists around her face - as opposed to her ordinarily splendidly blow-dried look.
Others expressed concern for her slim features however, noting how different she looked with prominent cheek bones and a defined neck.

The star recently opened up about her heartache following her split from Louis Smith.

The couple enjoyed a break in New York before seeing in the New Year together in Thailand but announced they were going their separate ways just weeks later.Speaking to Fabulous magazine Lucy, 24, said: "We had very separate lives and when we were together for a very long time, the cracks started to show."

Fitness entrepreneur Lucy also told how Olympic gymnast Louis became "irritated" by the amount of time she was spending on her phone.

"It became clear that we were quite different," she continued. "When we got back from Thailand, I just didn't hear from him after we landed. We got back and it was obvious that for him it was done."
