Akshay had four releases last year, and Housefull 3 will be his second release of 2016 after Airlift.

Superstar Akshay Kumar feels that a film should be completed in 30-60 days, and is surprised with filmmakers taking 300-400 days for the purpose.

At the trailer launch of his upcoming comedy Housefull 3, Akshay, when asked how he manages to regularly do 3-4 films a year, said: “It is not rocket science, it is very easy, you just keep on working. I don’t think one film should take more than 60 days. I finished Housefull 3 in 38 days.

“Everyone comes on time, we work hard. I work for eight hours and it was very fast. I had read that they made Mission Impossible in 52 days. I don’t know how we talk about 300 days and 400 days. Films are completed in 30-60 days, maximum you take 70 days, how much shooting will you do?”

Akshay had four releases last year, and Housefull 3 will be his second release of 2016 after Airlift. He will have another film, Rustom releasing this year.

The story of Housefull 3 is based in London, where Boman Irani’s character has three daughters — Jacqueline Fernandez, Lisa Haydon and Nargis Fakhri — but doesn’t want to get them married.

They want to get married to their boyfriends, played by Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Abhishek Bachchan, and the film is about the hilarious tricks these boys play to get married.

Akshay added: “My shooting days were 38 days, but it took 40 days to make the trailer because they (makers) couldn’t understand how to show in two and half minutes everything about its storyline. It was very difficult for them, I remember so many times they showed us, but nothing was working out.”

About the franchise completing a hat-trick, Akshay said: “We’ll come to know if it’s a hat-trick... it would be good if people like our third attempt with Housefull 3, because then it serves as motivation for fourth and fifth films. We will be looking forward to see how the business is, we keep our fingers crossed so that everything goes well.”

Housefull 3 has been directed by Farhad-Sajid, who have replaced Sajid Khan.

Actor Radhika Apte, who will be seen alongside superstar Rajnikanth in Tamil film “Kabali”, says he is unmatchable.

In the Tamil gangster drama, Rajnikanth plays the role of a don and Radhika acts is his wife.

When asked if she would be doing any action sequences with Rajnikanth, Radhika said, “May be... Let’s see.”

The 30-year-old actor further said, “The Malaysia shoot went really well. The shooting is over and dubbing is going on.”

Pamela Anderson has joined the cast for the big screen remake of Baywatch with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

The actor confirmed the news on his Instagram account where he called Anderson's CJ Parker "one of the most iconic characters of a generation".

He also posted a photo showing him in his lifeguard costume with his arm around the star.

The announcement comes after Anderson told a magazine last month that she wasn't a fan of remakes of TV shows.

She told Harpers Bazaar: "Well, they called me and asked me to be in it, but I haven't decided yet.
"I don't know. I don't like remakes of TV shows and I kind of want to leave it as is and be remembered for that. I don't know if I wanna go on Baywatch and be like, the old lady working at a counter somewhere."

Anderson, 48, will not be playing Parker again - the role has gone to model and actress Kelly Rohrbach - and it is not known if she will wear the famous red swimsuit.

The Rock wrote: "A pleasure to welcome (as gorgeous as ever) Pamela Anderson to our #BAYWATCH cast.

"We couldn't have made this movie without you.

"Welcome home. Thrilled you had a blast with us!"

Anderson's co-star David Hasselhoff also has a cameo in the film which sees Zac Efron play a lifeguard.

The film is due for release on 19 May, 2017., Pamela Anderson, The Rock
Kausalya Satyakumar, Apoorva
Sadanand and Ally Matthan
Kausalya Satyakumar, Apoorva Sadanand and Ally Matthan share a passion for indigenous techniques of weaving, embroidery and everything that goes into Indian textiles. All through 2015, they observed the enthusiasm created by #100SareePact (a movement started by friends Anju Maudgal Kadam and Ally Matthan), where women across India pulled out saris from their wardrobes and re-discovered the treasures handed down over generations.

“A lot of women began observing things closely and asked questions about the jamdani, dabu, bagru and the many techniques we have. We are all passionate about textiles and were talking about what can be done to take this movement forward,” says Kausala Satyakumar, a textile expert who has travelled extensively to conduct textile trails.

Bangalore-based friends Kausalya, Ally and Apoorva Sadanand noticed that while Chennai had the Yarn Club, their city could do with an awareness drive. The drive had to generate interest, sustain it and be modelled such that it can travel to other cities. Apart from creating awareness, the trio wanted a project that would help revive neglected weaver pockets. Together, they formed The Registry of Sarees which will have a two-fold approach — focussed learning events on indigenous techniques and second, lending support to struggling looms.

The Registry of Sarees had its first learning session recently where designer Ashdeen Lilaowala, a graduate of National Institute of Design, took the audience through a brief history of Parsis in India. “Ashdeen spent the last decade between Persia, India and the rest of Asia and has documented the history of Parsis. We learnt interesting facts — that they were ship builders and their link with China among other details. The motifs we see in Parsi gara embroidery then made more sense; we understood how the peacock motif in India is different from that of China. The learning session helped us read the embroidery patterns better,” says Ally.

The idea of learning sessions is to provide insights and open up perspectives. Ally confesses, “Growing up as a South Indian, I had thought nothing can match the Kanchi silk. As I began learning about other textiles in the country, I learnt to appreciate our textile history better.”

The Registry of Sarees team worked in tandem with Dastkari Haat to train two weaver groups — one from Bengal and the other from Karnataka.

In December 2015, when Jaya Jaitley met a few women passionate about Indian weaves, she told them of the plight of gamcha weavers in Bengal who earned Rs. 30 to 40 per day. “Dastkar Haat helped in training some of them to weave saris, which will help them earn more,” says Kausalya.

Meanwhile, Hemalatha Jain, another textile enthusiast identified weavers specialising in patteda anchu in Karnataka in a similar plight. “We helped set up four looms in both sectors. Each weaver wove 25 saris and the two groups will be meeting potential customers at their residences on April 22 and 23 to directly sell the saris, a method that was followed decades ago,” says Ally.

The method helps weavers connect with customers and get feedback. “We don’t need to hand hold weavers once they develop a customer base,” Kausalya points out.

Apoorva Sadanand felt this model had to be self sustaining than running on charity. The trio decided to have exhibitions of rare weaves on The Registry of Sarees portal (which will be up soon). The collections will be curated by Kausalya and the proceeds will be used to set up looms in other sectors and organise learning events.

The Registry of Sarees is open to conducting learning events in different cities on invitation. “Even someone’s house will do. Some space and a focussed audience interested in textiles is all it takes,” reiterates Kausalya.

So you want to know how to make your hair grow faster? Make a wish, go to bed and wake up the next morning with a full head of long thick hair. All joking aside, this is of course only possible with a wig or hair implants. There is still no scientific way to accelerate the growth of hair. But there are a number of ways to stimulate healthy hair growth, as well as a range of conditions that should be avoided if you want your hair to grow faster.
The first and best advice is to follow a healthy diet, it’s especially important to be mindful of what you eat when trying to grow out your hair. Resist going on crash diets and doing other extreme measures when growing your hair out as an unbalanced diet will actually slow the growth of your hair and make it more prone to breakage. You should aim to eat plenty of proteins, and be sure to take in the right hair growth vitamins vitamin B and vitamin C in particular. Adding A multi-vitamin isn’t a bad idea and prenatal vitamins have been known to improve the look, length and strength of hair. Scroll down this page for more information on this.
Why Would one Want to Make His or Her Hair Grow Faster?
There are many different reasons why someone would have the desire to quickly get long, healthy hair and would like to encourage hair growth. Perhaps there was a failed attempt at cutting their hair or when trying to dye their hair. Another reason could be that they had a bad experience with a barber and their looks show for it.  But maybe it’s also just a personal desire to have long hair. And it could also be health reasons that can lead to the loss of a person’s hair.

Finding A Good Hair Growth Product
There are numerous hair growth products on the market, some work better than others. When looking for a hair product which claims to stimulate hair growth you should always check if the product is clinically tested. Also make sure you are not allergic to any of the ingredients included in the product. Tip: Combining a hair-growth stimulating diet with using a hair growth product might grow your hair at an even faster rate. A few of the most popular natural hair growth products right now are: Groei360, Har Vokse and Viviscal.

What to do when I cut my hair too short?
Everyone knows the feeling; You take a chance and go to your hairdresser to try out a new hair cut. At the hairdresser your new cut still kinda looks all right but once you get home and take a glance in the mirror you get the biggest shock; your new haircut is not what you thought it would be! When your haircut is too short for your liking, don’t panic, your hair will grow back. The bad news is that it will take a while as you can’t force nature. However, there are a few ways to let your hair grow faster. Three of the best things to do is massaging your scalp daily, oiling your scalp daily and eating healthy (aka taking in the right vitamins). Take a look below for more information about all this.
The facts and rumors of Hair Growth
long brow hairIt would make little sense to explain the chemical composition and the structure of the hair, because it doesn’t really help the person who wants longer hair. Scientists and researchers are already doing studies relating to quicker hair growth on people  and are working on finding the miracle cure. Therefore, we will focus on some facts and rumors that keep coming up on the internet concerning hair growth. More information on what hair is made of in our what is hair made of article.

My Hair was torn out by the roots – will it  still grow back?

Yes, but in this case it takes longer for the hair to grow back, because a new hair root must grow back first. Even if you have severely damaged your hair you will normally still grow it back (that is, when you take care of your hair as you should as explained here: how to treat your damaged hair).

Does Hair grow faster after shaving and cutting?
No. Hair grows from the hair root and grows from the inside to the outside. Therefore, it does not matter how often hair is cut or shaved. Hair below the root is “thicker” and is tapered.  This is why shaving cuts off the hair at the thickest point, which leads to a thicker hair growth appearance, is often mistaken for quicker hair growth. On the question of “how to grow hair faster”, cutting it more frequently is not the solution!

Hair Loss After Pregnancy
Is there a hair loss possibility after a pregnancy? Yes, there is. Learn more about this on our hair loss after pregnancy page.

Disease and / or medication – can I regrow my hair?
Yes. If the hair follicle was damaged due to illness (thyroid, pituitary, etc.) or the use of drugs (chemo therapy for example), it  most likely is the primary reason that the “roots” are packed. Then being able to grow new hair is usually no longer an obstacle.. Here, a specialist can help you to grow your hair once again.

Hair Growth and Hair Loss – Male and Female Differences
Although there are no real studies on a definite difference between men and women when it comes to hair growth, it is a fact that there is a difference when it comes to hair loss. In most cases when men experience hair loss, it is because of “male pattern baldness”. Hair loss in women can follow a similar pattern but can also be caused by hormones and medicine-intake. On another, but related subject, take a look at our Evolution of Men’s Hair article to learn about the evolution of men’s hair.

Does Dry Hair Have an Impact on Hair Growth?
No. Just having dry hair will not impact the growth of your hair. You may want to treat dry hair and do something about the health of your hair if you have very dry hair though.

Is There a Correlation Between Hair Color and Hair Growth?
No. Although there are genetic and racial differences when it comes to hair growth, one cannot say there is a definite relation between the color of your hair and how fast it grows. By the way, if you’re a brunette, go here for our hair tips for brunettes.

Does Having Split Ends Mean My Hair Grows Slower?
No. Having split ends has usually nothing to do with the rate of you hair growth. Having split ends is however a sign of unhealthy hair or simply just a bad hair cut. Go to our how to prevent split ends page for more information on this.

Can you get beautiful hair by brushing?
Yes. This helps the  blood flow to the scalp (not only during a full moon). And so if we go back to the question, “How  can I get my hair to grow faster.” Regular brushing does contribute to healthy, long hair.

How Hair Grows Faster – What To Do
Next to learning more about how fast your hair grows naturally, the following tips will help your hair grow faster and will also be healthy for your hair.

Healthy eating
A vitamin-rich diet is probably the best way to get a healthy head of hair because it stimulates the speed of hair growth. Fruit, vegetables and iron-containing foods should be on your  shopping list if you want healthy hair.
Brushing the hair
Brushing the hair (before and after washing it) stimulates the blood flow to the scalp and distributes the nutrients in the hair more evenly. Don’t brush it when you hair is wet though.
Massaging the scalp using a oil
By massaging the scalp using a combination of the right natural oils, plant extracts, vitamins and minerals (found in natural products like Groei360) you can clean out the hair shaft, increase the scalp bloodflow and promote hair growth.
The Hair’s Moisture Supply
There are maintenance agents that can be used in the hair to provide moisture. Oils are the best for this.
Avoid stresssinger with blonde hair
“It’s tearing your hair out.” – The rumor that one’s hair falls out from stress is true, so stay casual and cool and try to avoid stress!
Supplements
Use hair growth vitamin supplements (Viviscal is one of the best hair supplements available at the moment) when you can’t cover your nutritional needs in your normal diet.. Vitamin A, C, H, and all the B vitamins, as well as copper, zinc, keratin (protein), silica and iron help in the quest for healthy and longer hair.
What NOT To Do
You now know what promotes hair growth and what keeps the hair healthy and stable. Now we should mention the things which are not healthy for the hair. In addition to a poor diet and a lot of stress, here are some things that should be avoided if you want to grow your “dream hair.”

Shampoos with silicone
This type of shampoos dry out the hair and causes it to break down faster. Blow dryers and flat irons have a similar effect as the silicone shampoos. The hair is almost attacked and becomes unstable when you use these products.
UV Lightcurly brunette in the air
UV rays bleach the hair which is very destructive to the future of your hair and your looks. If you go in the sun extremely often you should protect your hair by wearing a hat, a hoodie or a cap sometimes.
Salt and chlorine water
The hair is softened and then becomes dry again, which causes a steady change that is bad for the hair, especially when combined with the sun!
Hair ties and clips
If these are  worn in the same locations on the hair every day, it can cause the hairs to  break there!
Bleaching, dyeing, hair extensions and perms
A further explanation is unnecessary, as it is well known that all chemicals, used in this realm, attack and cause damage to the hair.
Minimize Stress
Have you ever noticed that your hair tends to fall out when you are stressed out?  Stress causes a chemical reaction in your body that negatively impacts your health.  These changes are reflected in your outward appearance, including your hair.

Do your health and your hair a favor by minimizing stress.  If you can’t avoid it all together, look for ways to wind-down at the end of your day.  Light exercise, massages and aroma therapy are all great ways to reduce your stress and improve the health of your hair.  Of all the ways to grow your hair faster, reducing stress is one that will benefit your entire body.

Address Medical Problems
If you are eating right and have relatively little stress, but still aren’t getting the hair growth results you would expect, you may want to speak with your doctor.  Certain medication sand conditions can cause hair growth to slow or stop.  More serious conditions can cause your hair to even fall out.

When you talk to your doctor, bring a list of all medications you take, including over the counter ones and any vitamins or minerals.  Your doctor will be able to help determine if your hair problems are being caused by something more serious.

Minimize Damage
Once your hair begins to grow you’ll need to minimize damage caused by styling tools and products.  This means laying off the curlers, straighteners, colorings and other common hair treatments.  Wash your hair, let it air dry and then brush it with a firm, but forgiving hairbrush.  Avoid breaking and damaging your hair at all costs.

It’s not just chemicals and treatments that can cause hair damage.  Wearing your hair in too tight of a ponytail, or styling it in tight braids can also cause hair to become weakened or even broken.  Avoid any style that puts too much pressure on any portion of your hair.

Miracle cures and dietary supplements for full, long hair
There is no “magic bullet” when the question “how to grow hair faster” is asked. As you can see, however, there are many options and ways to promote one’s own hair growth and just as many, or even more situations that should be avoided if you desire to have longer hair.

woman with blonde hair in the sunWebsites, distributors and online shops that advertise getting gorgeous long hair in one or two months and offer these expensive products are usually not as honest  or serious as they could be and have no real answer to the question “how to grow hair faster.” However, there really are some shampoos and vitamin or mineral supplements (like Viviscal) which stimulate the healthy growth of hair and can safely be used if there is no allergic reaction. Go here for a few good ones.

Before  taking supplements, the family doctor should be consulted for help and information about which products can help each individual.

Influences on the hair: Health problems and inheritance
It’s a completely different topic if there is hereditary hair loss or hair loss due to a disease. In such a case it is always advisable to consult a specialist who is advanced in this area to really make sure what is helpful in your situation. Learning how to “grow hair quicker” is usually not at its place here.

Hair Diet
No matter the amount of time and cash you spend perfecting your hair with various products, the health of your hair starts from within. Hair is a a section of the integument (Latin for coating), this is a body system, equal to the nervous system. The integument contains skin, nails and hair. The 3 body parts are related, only hair is a little different because hair grows from the inside outwards. People use various hair products to achieve the desired effect of having healthy hair.

Unhealthy hair
Aside from (obviously) being unhealthy, unhealthy hair often looks ugly. It is dull, dry, has many split ends and it can look very frizzy. Bad nutrition is usually the main cause of unhealthy bad looking hair. Also, healthy hair is easily recognizable because it is usually thick and not dry. Learn more about getting thicker hair on our how to make your hair thicker page.

Add healthy foods to your diethealthy foods for hair growth diet
Avoid a poor diet, such as eating too much salt, sugar and animal fats that is a bad influence to your hair. That kind of diet will also cause stress to the body. It will have a need for more food. You lose vitamin B if you do not eat the right foods. Vitamin B has several different functions in the human body. Among other things, they can help to reduce hair loss and strengthen nails. It isn’t difficult to eat foods that contain vitamin C and B, such as eggs and bread. For more information on which vitamins or supplements to use go here.

Multivitamin pills
Multivitamin pills can be healthy for the hair, but it’s important that we get the proper nutrients and ingredients out of the food we eat. A lot of people take multivitamin tablets without understanding what they actually consume or what they need. Vitamin A should be in the multivitamin product you take because it does wonders for your skin, and it gives you a healthy scalp. Vitamin A can be found, for instance, in apricots. If you really want to consume all the necessary vitamins and minerals for faster hair growth you should take hair growth supplements like Viviscal or Ana-Growth Biotin & Folic Acid Hair Vitamins. Try not to eat healthy foods for hair growthunhealthy foods or to drink unhealthy beverages that deplete the body of nutrients. Try not to eat chocolate, as it is a delicious, but often unhealthy food.

Water and Omega-3 fats
How many glasses of water are essential for healthy hair? To be precise: 8 glasses of water a day minimum would be the perfect amount of water to get healthy looking hair. To clean your body’s system, you drink water. Drink water every day as it is easy to do and cheap. Hair consists for 98 percent out of protein. Tresses are dead proteins. Once the hair from the head grows out, it is dead. So realizing this, it’s easy to conclude that protein should be part of your daily diet. A couple of good sources of healthy proteins are seeds, nuts and fish.

Hair Fooding
As you could read above on this page, there is a link between your taste buds and the beauty of your hair! Hair fooding is a new way of eating that is elevated to an art of living that combines good health, fun and flavor.woman with long blonde hair

Pregnancy_Annapurna Times
Whether you’re a first-time mom or pregnant with your third baby, your doctor probably has talked to you about what to eat and what to avoid, why exercise is important and what tests you’ll need.

But let’s face it, doctor’s visits are short, so there might be some things she’s overlooked.

Here are 10 things you should know to make sure you’ll have a healthy pregnancy and be prepared once your labor starts.

1. Your doctor works for you.
When you choose a doctor, you’re selecting that person to provide information and services much like you would hire a home contractor or a personal trainer. Of course the information is evidence-based, the services are premium and the cost is high, but it’s important to remember that ultimately you’re in charge of your pregnancy, labor and delivery and you have choices.

“It’s your job during pregnancy to become informed and your physician is there to be your guide,” said Jeanne Faulkner, a registered nurse in Portland, Ore., author of “Common Sense Pregnancy: Navigating a Healthy Pregnancy and Birth for Mother and Baby” and host of the Common Sense Pregnancy & Parenting podcast.

2. Don’t rely on a missed period.
Instead of rushing to make an appointment the minute you realize you missed your period, take a drug-store pregnancy test first.  Then see your doctor to confirm the results and find out how far along you are.  If your periods are usually irregular, you could actually be further along in your pregnancy than you think.

3. Pregnancy is normal.
“[Pregnancy] is probably the first time in your life that you’re going to your doctor for something that’s completely routine and normal,” said Dr. Brian Levine, a board-certified OB-GYN and fertility specialist, and the New York practice director for the Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine in New York City.

Although pregnancy in the U.S. is often viewed as a medical event or a condition that is difficult to manage and needs intervention, remember that your body is uniquely suited for it.

4. If you drank when you conceived, don’t stress.
Had one too many drinks the night you conceived? You’re not alone. Fifty percent of pregnancies in the U.S. are unintended and chances are, many are a result of alcohol.

Although alcohol can impact fertility and you should never drink during pregnancy, if you were drinking when you conceived, it will have no effect on your baby, Levine said.
5. You might want a midwife instead of an OB-GYN.
More than 90 percent of women will choose an OB-GYN as their providers, but for some women who are healthy and not considered high-risk, a midwife might be a better option.

“Midwifery care is slanted to look at pregnancy as a normal, healthy physiological process for the majority of women,” Faulkner said.

Obstetricians on the other hand, are actually surgical specialists for high-risk patients and they use screening, diagnostic exams and interventions to rule out issues.

“They have been trained to be medical specialists [and] to look for problems and that’s how they look at pregnancy,” Faulkner said.

6. You only need two ultrasounds.
It’s exciting to see your baby and it can also put your mind at ease, but the reality is that you only need two ultrasounds throughout your entire pregnancy. The first one, a nuchal translucency (NT) scan, is usually done between 11 and 12 weeks, along with a blood test. The NT scan screens for birth defects like Down syndrome and it can also give you a good idea of your due date. The second ultrasound, which happens between 18 and 21 weeks, is a screen of the baby’s anatomy.

7. Ultrasounds aren’t always reliable.
Since ultrasound can be off by as much as 20 percent in either direction, physicians will also use a tape measure and their hands to estimate the baby’s weight. Ultrasound is also more accurate in the first trimester than in the third.

“You can get a very clear idea of how big a baby is in the first trimester, but that doesn’t necessarily correlate to how big [the baby] will be at delivery,” Faulkner said.

What’s more, the only way to measure amniotic fluid levels is with ultrasound, yet if the umbilical cord or the baby’s hand is in the picture, it can skew the accuracy.  If your physician is concerned, there are other tools she can use like a non-stress test to determine next steps, Levine said.

8. Just because you want to know the gender, doesn’t mean you should.
Prenatal cell-free DNA screening, also known as non-invasive prenatal testing, is designed to look for chromosomal anomalies. Although you can also find out your baby’s gender early, it’s not a medical indication for the test and shouldn’t be done just because you’re curious, Levine said.

If you decide to have the test, understand that since it’s new technology, you should be prepared that if the results are abnormal they could turn out to be normal later on.

9. Your birth plan isn’t a contract.
Having a birth plan is a great idea because it shows the nursing staff that you’re prepared, you have an arsenal of tools to help you manage labor and you want to set the tone for the type of birth you want to have.

Yet there are so many unknowns. For example, you don’t know what your pain threshold is, how your labor will progress and how your baby will tolerate labor. Instead of making hard and fast rules and expect everything to go as planned, “go in a set with of really good ideas and then be flexible,” Faulkner said.

10. Just because it’s past your due date doesn’t mean you’re overdue.
Some women and physicians may opt for an induction if a woman goes past 40 weeks, but a due date is really just a guess date. In fact, only about 5 percent of mothers actually go into labor on their due dates.

Women who are 42 weeks pregnant are considered overdue, but approximately 90 out of 100 will have contractions start on their own within 2 weeks.

The concern of going past 40 weeks is that the placenta will not work as well. Yet this is rare and your physician has tools to monitor your baby’s health.

“We can put a woman on a fetal heart monitor or do an ultrasound and a biophysical profile to determine fetal well-being,” Faulkner.

Priyanka’s body was found hanging from a ceiling fan;(right) her husband
The family members of event manager Priyanka Kapoor have said that learning about an earlier rape case against her husband Nitin Chawla had shattered her.

According to the family, Chawla had concealed the fact that he was booked and arrested by Mumbai Police in 2014.

In her suicide note, Priyanka mentioned the fact that after marriage she got to know Chawla was booked for a rape case.

The victim in that case claimed that a complaint was made with the Delhi Police. Subsequently, the case was transferred to Mumbai. Police officers said Chawla was arrested and later released on bail after the woman admitted that they were in a consensual relationship. Chawla had kept the other woman in dark about his marital status.

In her complaint submitted in October 2014, the woman had said she had met him at a night club after which their friendship grew into an affair.

The Zika virus can be transmitted via mosquito
The Zika virus is "scarier" than first thought and its impact on the US could be greater than predicted, public health officials have admitted.
A wider range of birth defects has been linked to the virus, said Dr Anne Schuchat of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
And the mosquitoes that carry the virus could travel to more US states than previously thought, she said.
The current Zika outbreak began almost a year ago in Brazil.
It has been linked to thousands of birth defects in the Americas.
"Most of what we've learned is not reassuring," said Dr Schuchat at White House briefing on Monday.
"Everything we know about this virus seems to be scarier than we initially thought."
Earlier this year, US President Obama asked the US Congress for $1.8bn (£1.25bn) in emergency funding to combat the virus.
In the meantime it has been using money totalling $589m left over from the Ebola virus fund.

The audio of the actor's upcoming sci-flick 24

was released this morning

Time is a key element in Suriya’s upcoming film 24. The trailers reveal that; it shows the protagonist designing a watch. He tells, to the other character in the film — Suriya plays a triple role in this — “I’m here for my watch.”

The makers of the sci-fi flick seem quite serious about time and numbers. Earlier, a single (‘Kalam En Kadhali’) from the film based on a time machine was released on March 14 to celebrate the birth anniversary of Albert Einstein.

The connections don’t end there. We’re also informed that it is music composer A.R. Rahman’s 24th year in the industry — and it was but fitting that he was the star of the audio launch that was held at Sathyam Cinemas this morning. He let the tunes and music do the talking, not letting on too much about the much-awaited project that has been directed by Yaavarum Nalam Vikram Kumar but thankfully, Suriya, protagonist and producer, spilled the beans.

“I have done a triple role in the film,” he announced, sparking off cheers in the balcony, where many of his fans had assembled, “When Vikram Kumar narrated the story to me at a sitting that lasted 4.5 hours, I loved it so much that I also wanted to produce it. So, we got together a great team.”

He’s referring to, apart from the director and composer, names like lyricists Vairamuthu and Madhan Karky, Samantha, Nithya Menon, Saranya Ponvannan and many others.

In a message directed to his fans, Suriya added, “Make it work only if it is a good film. If it’s a bad one, reject it… for it is only then that I will chase good stories.”

He certainly seems to be convinced that 24 is among the good ones. We’ll have to wait for a month or so to know if it is.

Musical Coincidence

The album of 24 has some surprises — one of them is it has popular Bollywood singer Arijit Singh crooning a Tamil song (‘Naan Un’), with Chinmayi providing female vocals. Lyricist Karky revealed a bit about the inception of that song: “Rahman had composed a tune and wanted me to write something. I came up with the lines — ‘Naan Un Azhaginile Deivam Unarugiren’ and he seemed almost taken aback reading it. Later, he said that he usually reads something for inspiration before composing a tune and for this particular situation, he had picked up a random page from a book and the lines he read there were: ‘In your beauty I see the manifestation of God’.” Talk about coincidences.
